Jackson ain't Monroe, but it will do just fine.

So here we are again, just about to close on a house constructed in 2004.   Let's update:

Our property in Monroe is a beautiful place that we'll never forget about.  Having said that, and with the knowledge that we could never the home we wanted there off-grid, we've settled with our title insurance company and decided to move into a home just up the road a piece.  Its funny how it all works out, but I think we may have dodged a bullet.  True, we will never feel that satisfaction of having watched our dream become a reality from the ground up, but do they ever work out that way anyway?  The home we'll be moving to in Jackson is so close to the layout that we had designed it really is scary.  We managed to move all the wood we cut in Monroe, by wheel barrow, down the skidder trail that was to be our driveway.  We then loaded it in to an open landscaping trailer modified with plywood sides and hauled it up to the E Chase Rd in Jackson.  It turned out to be just under 4 cords, market rate at least $1000.  Can't wait to burn it in the fancy Morso stove over there.  I think we'll cut our wood this winter for next year either in Jackson or Monroe and leave it in 4 foot sections (except for white birch!) until next fall when we'll cut it to stove length and split it.  Moving stove length firewood all over the place is a rough business.

I've got a tree stand I put up on the hill which I've dubbed the "Thor Hyerdal Deer-o-minium" ready to go for the 1st of next month.  Also another home-made metal one ready to be placed strategically.  I still want to make the place look like a state park.
